As many of you reading this will know, Liverpool is bidding for the City of Culture and there's a lot of work going on around the city right now.

On his way to work today my eagle eyed friend, Mr. Bailey caught sight of one of our city's favourite sons whose face was adorning the tarpaulins that currently cover St. George's Hall on Lime Street.

Vying for my title of "Scoop" he produced his camera and took the pics you see below.  Now try and imagine exactly how BIG these pics are.  If you know St. George's Hall you will be able to figure out the ratio - wonderful aren't they?  But I'm not sure John would be too happy being seen as the Mona Lisa of Liverpool!!!

Thanks to Stephen for the pics and for his continued support of this site.
